Hi. I am trying to install gentoo from the 2 cd live cd set, using GRP and the install handbook does not seem to clear on doing a GRP. When I copy the portage snapshots form the cd to /mnt/gentoo/usr directory I get an error saying /mnt/gentoo/usr does not exist. Do I need to make any directories before doing the copying, I have /dev/hda3 setup as a reserif filesystem and have followed and double checked everything to this point of the install. Thanks for any help I have started from scratch about ten times now and can't seem to get by this point. _________________ Linux: Limited only by your imagination and your ability to learn. |

I made the /mnt/gentoo/usr and the snapshot/portage file untars ok and the distfiles copy over, but then nothing else works. when I try to edit the etc/make.conf file using nano there is nothing in it. It just says new file. _________________ Linux: Limited only by your imagination and your ability to learn. |
