|

Hopefully, this is the right forum for this post.
On 1.4_beta, everything works for me save lbreakout2's sound. It's not a sound issue in general, as lbreakout, etc give me sound without problem.
The issue seems to be that during ./configure, it looks for SDL_MIXER and can't find it. Some more research indicated that this usually means the development libraries aren't there. I also tried installing both SDL_MIXER and lbreakout2 from their respective websites without any luck.
One gentleman on the gentoo-user mailing list had run into other problems with lbreakout2. He'd been told by the author that it could be fixed by doing
Code: |
CFLAGS="-march=i686" -O2
|
However, this hasn't solved the issue for me. In private emails we compared installed SDL related libraries et al, and I had everything that he had.
We have different sound cards--neither of us use Alsa. I have a cmpci compiled as module--as mentioned, no problems with other programs.
So, wondering if anyone else has run into this and has the fix. I'm not a programmer, and one feeble attempt to hack the configuration file simple failed miserably. |
