I just installed did emerge nvidia-kernel nvidia-glx, added nvidia to the modules autoload and it does creat /dev/nvidia0 but when i cat it it says input output error. X won't start up, said can't find /dev/nvidia0

What is the output of /var/log/XFree86.0.log ? any (EE) or (WW)? |

EE Failed to initilize the nvidia kernel moduled
aborting
thats it, it says input output error when it trys to probe nvidia0 _________________ "You've got to listen to me. if you could...let's see the results of
ls -l /dev/nvidia*
also are you trying to startx as root or as a user? does it act differently as root than as user? _________________ while(true) {self.input(sugar);} |
