im installing portage from live CD and when i get to :
tar -xvjpf /mnt/cdrom/stages/"InsertHere".tar.bz2 (the part where i extract a portage snapshot) i get an error that says the file dosent exist.Now after checking the /mnt/cdrom/snapshot contents it gave me the snapshot(potage-200310911.tar.biz. when i put this into tar -xvjpf /mnt/cdrom/stages/"InsertHere".tar.bz2 it says the file dosent exist HELP!!!!!!!!!! |

I am certain that if you type the right filename (I take it you're not actually using "InsertHere" as part of the filename), untarring will work just fine. Remember that case matters and everything. If the filename argument for tar uses the exact same spelling as the filename returned when you list the stages dir with ls, it'll simply work. _________________ Gentoo's kind community
