So I want to ask if I can install gentoo in a fast way.
My connection to the internet is about 30 K from BG sites that means that my international connection is about 10 K .
So as I start downloading from the i-net I noticed that overall it took me about 1 day to finish downloading but as the step with the configuration of the kernel and booting were not set up when the power go down I have to start from the begining.

So can someone tell me what should I do to get it ready soon as possible and at the same time have controll over the optimization !?

I know that this is stage one but don't know how to do GRP install and where to download the write for my platform.

Pentuium 4 is my platform.

So pls provide me a link with the GRP and tell me in few steps what should I do to install as fast as possible and then how to update these GRP so that all is builded for my PC ....

Thank you !

GRP means, that you use prebuild packages for installation instead of sources.
I think the gentoo handbook provides information on using GRP.
You have to start with a gentoo LiveCD set of 2 CDs for P4.
Follow the instructions until the installation of the stage tarball. You have to use stage3.
Afterwards take the portage snapshot from the CD.
Follow on with "Preparing for GRP" and use the "usepkg" option of emerge.
You get everything from the LiveCDs, including kernel-sources, syslogger, bootloader...
After rebooting you can use the second CD for installing the binaries of kde, gnome, whatever. This way you will get your system to work.
Later you may download the sources from a friends pc, burn them on cd and then use them to update your system.
