Ok. im currently hosting my website in an external webhost, but im thinking of moving it in house. I currently have 1mb cable with 256k upload. i just checked my ISP and they offer a second connection if needed. basicly, i would like to set a machine i have here (AMD K6-2 450, 64mb ram, etc) as a dual wan router. firstly, i would like to find out is there some sort of front end to do this with. i know its posible. searching google found some interesting things. secondly, because i will be running a web server, and probably a mail server on a seperate machine, i would like things to be easly configable. has anyone tried something like this? can i get some information? it will be a few weeks before i go and get this, but i just want to find out. i seen some hardware ones, but they are either too expencive, have lack of configuration options, or have problems with different things. if im running linux on the box i can config it the way i want it!
Thanks in advance.
PS: the reason i want a frontend is mainly speed. it would make life easer, but its not a major requirement! _________________ Lotas T Smartman

lotas,
lartc.org is your friend. Hopefully you can figure it out.
It's not too easy and requires good iptables and iproute knowledge. I myself have cable and dsl but am unable to multipath them. It works fine on the firewall itself, where a given connection's outgoing path is randomly chosen between the two ISPs. Whenever I have this in place, however, no clients can connect to the firewall. Very annoying. I was going to start a new thread on this, actually.
Maybe someone with an understanding of this stuff can chime in.
