My first question is , where is this iso?I've searched a lot of popular Mirror sites and I cannot find a file with a name explicity containing "Kde/gnome Livecd".
I could guess of course but we are talking about 3 hour download
Can you show me a Mirror in Europe?
My second question is if this live cd is something similar to KNOPPIX?
My third is if i can make some ...minor changes in this .iso, say change the kernel configuration?
Thanks a lot _________________ Crimes against humanity??Dunno!!Maybe that chimp-face guy over there can help you.

The second live CD of the LiveCD set contains KDE, GNOME and XFree (at least in the 1.4 version of Gentoo). It just contains the packages for emerging them as far as I could tell. |

There was once a Gentoo LiveCD that worked like a Knoppix system; it booted KDE afaik and it came with UT2003 on it. You might still find it on mirrors, look under experimental directories. _________________ shine on,

According to the installation guide:
Quote: | Gentoo KDE/Gnome LiveCD
This cd contains a complete live Gentoo environment featuring the KDE and Gnome desktop environment, an apache webserver, several webbrowsers, irc clients, firewall/router stuff, network auditing stuff, a lot of CLI tools... It can be used to fix a broken filesystem. The kde/gnome livecd contains an entire gcc (distcc, ccache enabled) toolchain; boot all systems on your network using this cd and experience the power of distributed compilation. This cd can be used to install Gentoo, but does not contain GRP, source code, nor a portage snapshot or stages.
KDE/Gnome LiveCD Pros and Cons
+ You can work with Gentoo without installing it on your hard disk
+ You can also use it to install Gentoo
- Huge download, but doesn't contain a portage snapshot, stages, precompiled packages or source code.

Where is this??? I REALLY would like this to be available. It may take some time though, since they seam to be having some problems with mirrors.
BTW:
Tabriz: That's not what he is talking about.
dr_strange: That livecd was for the mac. There is a very old livecd with ut2003 that ran with fluxbox...
But, I REALLY want this one. Oh, you got that already?

According to handbook I assume it's knoppix-like (with the gentoo flavor of course :-). But I didn't find it on ftp either.
Was it released already?
Thx, iki |
