anyone know what this means?

ws1 root # emerge xmmplayer
Calculating dependencies

A masked package means that its ebuild contains the following portion:

Code:
~x86


if you use Intel. The ~ means that for some reason, there may be problems running the package on x86 machines and that (hopefully) someone is working on fixing the problem. Maybe at a later date, it will no longer be masked.

If you still want to attempt installing it, you can do:

Code:
emerge <full path to ebuild file>


(There's a quicker way, but I forget the details).
