So I have a band, and we want to get the Tascam US-224 mixer board which plugs directly into the USB slot on my PC. So I checked google and found that ALSA has support for it so It will work (may be a challenge to set up, but I like challenges). Now my next question:
The US-224 comes with Cubase, which is a home studio recording solution for Windows/Mac of course. So what I need to know, is if there is a program for Linux that will do what cubase does, or at least most the things it does (if not all). Here's a link to the software and it's features directly.

Btw, the page has a link to the a PDF with ALL of it's features. Like I said it doesnt have to do everything Cubase can, as long as it can record seperate tracks, then layer them after mild editing/noise reduction that would be cool. The only reason I need this for Linux is I do not use Windows at all. Not through a VM, or even dual boot, for the band however I would if there was no alternatives so hopefully there will be.
*crosses fingers*
Thank you in advance.

I just found audacity, so I answered my own question. Thank you anyways.
=o)
Unless of course you know of better ones for Linux, then feel free to chime in. |
