|
|
hello,
I just installed Gentoo (stage2, athlonxp), and now I have a problem booting windows (xp, fat32) from grub, I tried fdisk /mbr, and it has no effect, grub still starts.
there were some strange things:
fdisk "v" gives 248 unallocated sectors
cfdisk gives an error about partition ordering
I then tried dd if=... of=... bs=446 count =1 from another xp machine, but this didn't work either, seemingly, but now the entire partition table is messed up, really bad
help me please, i'm stuck! _________________ Athlon XP 2000+, Asus A7V333, 256 Mb, Gf4 MX440 64 Mb (homebrew server).

Can you please post your grub.conf and your /etc/fstab (or tell us your partitions types and mount points)? |
