I have just installed Gentoo on a G4 iBook. How do I check the current battery level? I imagine there is some file in /proc that reports it? |

I have done that, and I have /proc/apm which I think is reporting the battery level (100%), so thank you!
However, the apm program itself does not work - it reports "32-bit APM interface not supported". Any suggestions how to resolve this? |

As long as /proc/apm is there, you can use the app that came with
your window manager to read it
For example kde or xfce |

Hi!
Check /proc/apm. This file has the battery status.
If you are running KDE there is a program called klaptop
that will use this file to display bat. status on the KDE panel. Check out K->settings->control center->power control->laptio battery |
