Networking works perfectly in almost every respect: I can browse the web, check e-mail, connect to ICQ, AIM, and MSN with gaim, and connect to Unreal Tournament servers. But for some reason, since about a week ago I've been unable to connect to Gnutella using either qtella or gnut: in both cases, all connection attempts result in errors. Also, although I can connect to Battle.net with another computer on the same net connection running Starcraft under Windows 98, I can't do the same with Diablo 2, Starcraft, or Warcraft 3 under WineX on this computer although in all other respects tehy seem to be running perfectly. A friend of mine reported having the same problem with qtella. At first I thought it had something to do with the vanilla kernel I installed: the problem started occuring about the same time that I switched from the Gentoo sources to the vanilla sources, but since then I've compiled numerous new kernels from both sources - and unmerged and emerged both - but to no avail. Is anyone else having similar problems? |
