I doubt that would matter. If I understand right, you're trying to transfer files via FTP from the xbox to another computer, right? To do this, only the OS running on the xbox and providing the FTP service needs to understand the filesystems used on the xbox. The FTP server is responsible for reading the files and providng them to clients. It's probably something else, perhaps the server on the xbox is a bit wonky... have you tried any other FTP clients? |

The direction of transfer doesn't matter. It's the job of the FTP server, and the OS it runs on, to save the files that are sent to it. FTP doesn't expose the block device and expect clients to know the file system, it provides a simple and standardized protocol which allows clients to list files, ask for files, and send files. The server is responsible for performing all of these operations on behalf of the client. |

putting ntfs and fat32 support in wont help (xbox hd is fatX and as pointed out by CheshireCat the ftp client doesnt see the target hd)
I can use gftp and ncftp to access the ftp server on my xbox fine - what software do you have on the xbox running the server? (evox, xbmp/c?)
as far as i can remember evox doesnt allow active connections, try seeing if gftp is set to active and not passive, though you probably wouldnt even be able to get the initial partition list if this is the problem |
