I had some problems with bootstrap and gentoo tolld me to see config.log where is it can't find it :?: :?: :?:

If it was for a particular package, you should find it in:

Code:
/var/tmp/portage/<package-name>/work/<program>


Substitute <package-name> for the package it was compiling (like 'mozilla-1.6' and <program> for the program (like 'mozilla').

Or to find all of them:

Code:
# find /var/tmp/portage -iname 'config.log'

It was a particular package, two to be more precise

i was trying to find it with :

find -name config.log


isn't that the same ???? 8O 8O

Not quite the same - you need to specify where you want find to 'start' looking - that's the '/' or '/var/tmp/portage' before the -iname..

-iname also makes things case insensitive, although in this case that wouldn't have mattered.

I was using the command from the "/" shouldn't it work like that ????

If I’m not mistaken using the command from “/” should look for the entire disk am I right ????

I never remember the insensitive switch because I had the full file name but agree with you it is better with it

Hmm - yep - it should have searched the entire disk.. so.. not sure on that one!

I'm not very preoccupied since i have already found the config.log I will get preoccupied if i got something important to find and this wasn’t the case, in last resource I could just start over again.
