I'm trying to install vmware-tools in gentoo, but it asks me:
"what is the directory that contains the init directories (rc0.d ... rc6.d) ?"
What should I answer? |

You want to specify /etc/init.d because that's where all of the scripts should reside. Then you allocate them to your runlevels with rc-update (if the scripts are supported by Gentoo's utilities) or by hand if not. |

that wont work. I tried it once.
just make a dir in /etc/rc.0 - rc.6 and then specify those.
maybe there are other ways of doing that, but when i had that issue this was the faster way of gettingit to install. _________________ linux: #232767 |
