I just installed samba 3.x to see if I could get a bit more performance out of my server, and noticed a rather big change.
uid/gid was exported from my server, a GREAT feature in one situation I run samba in, but not so great on my home box. Any way to disable it? (and does anyone have some reading info on it? for example how to easily sync remote users/groups to local users/groups). |

// edit, more info.
I just realized it's working fine, the only thing wrong are the exported uid/guid's beeing shown wrong, I CAN write to them even if they say I don't own the file.
BUT, rox doesen't like it, I think it checks the permission before trying to write or something, cuz I have to do things from terminal.
anyone know an easy way to map the right users to the right uid's over smb? |
