If the 3000 is like the 4000, I managed to get mine to work with ffmpeg, but not gnomemeeting (yet). I have to insert the snd_usb_audio module after I start X. Then use this :
ffmpeg -f avi -s 320x240 -vcodec mpeg4 -b 800 -g 300 -bf 2 -ad /dev/dsp1 -acodec mp3 -ab 128 /home/bob/video/test.avi
That is all one line. The "-ad /dev/dsp1" is the device it showes up as. If I try to start the module in the autoload file it interfers with the regular sound card. (ESS Solo 1) And it won't work. If anyone knows a cleaner method I would really like to know.
