Why I don't have to copy System.map to boot according to the installation guide when I am using an amd64 machine? _________________ My System: Opteron 246, Tyan Thunder K8W, 2 GB Ram, 3 Ware Raid Controller, 2x160 GB Harddisk,

Thank you. There are so many tutorials in the internet and each one makes other suggestions.
But I have another problem: my system hangs sometimes on boot after following line without any error message:
Code: | Calculating module depedencies . . . |
Then I press the hardware reset button and everything is ok. Strange, isn't it?
Has anybody an idea? _________________ My System: Opteron 246, Tyan Thunder K8W, 2 GB Ram, 3 Ware Raid Controller, 2x160 GB Harddisk,
