|
|
i get this error message when I try to bootstrap (for some reason my computer doesn't want to bootstrap)
Code: |
!!! copy /var/tmp/portage/baselayout-1.8.6.13-r1/image/dev/shm/.keep -> /dev/shm/.keep failed.
!!! [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/dev/shm/.keep#new'
|
anyone know what this means?
I'll try to post my make.conf file later (cause i think that might have something to do with it. |

did you add a lot of stuff to your make.conf file? it seams like you have a lot of stuff in your USE line _________________ I think that the forums are the greatest thing about Gentoo, thanks to everyone that posts on them!

Is the USE line a problem?
I know i have bootstrapped the system before, but i can't seem to get it working this time using my USE line, could it be the 3dnow and mmx lines?
Any help greatly appreciated |

I think that the error has something to do with your make.conf file but I'm not 100% sure. I know that sometimes when I am having trouble with emerging something I just take some stuff out of my make.conf file and then it works, I've never installed from stage one or stage two so I have never had to bootstrap. _________________ I think that the forums are the greatest thing about Gentoo, thanks to everyone that posts on them!

It could very well be that, however, my question is what is the problem with my make.conf file? Is is the USE line, or the CFLAGS line, or the CHOST line(though i doubt its the CHOST line), or is it the ACCEPT_KEYWORDS line?
Anyone have any ideas? |

Okay, I did a little bit of reading up on USE variables since I didn't know too much about them. I found a list of all of the variables and it seams that some of the ones that you have in your list are not ones that are accepted. Here is the list that I found http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/use-index.xml Maybe if you take the ones out that are not on this list it will help. _________________ I think that the forums are the greatest thing about Gentoo, thanks to everyone that posts on them!
