Hi,
somewhere out there must be an X application to display who much the cpu is working, isn't there? I have got no idea how to call that... Thanks!

You can also do:
Code:

<console_app> -e top

where <console_app> = xterm or konsole or gnome-terminal. Not exactly an X app, but gives you all the information in a compact form.

note that you should use wmcube-gdk, which is much faster/nicer for the cpu itself.

there are a bunch of dockapps that will do that anyway.
checkout wmsysmon, wmmemload, wmload, wmifs, wmmon, wmnetload, wmnd, wmmemmon, etc. (yes I know its not only cpu-related but hey can be useful too :)

Maybe it's a USE flag? Also, one should be aware of <a href="http://opennet.ru/base/exploits/1008783482_286.txt.html">this</a>.
