Hello
I've searched a lot and I couldn't find any recent documentation on how to get a higher refresh rate in FB. I would like (as the topic hints) to run my bootsplash and ttys in 1280*1024 which is already working. But trying to prevent seizures I'd really like to get it running in 85 Hz. Which would also benefit to postition my FB output the same place my X output is on the screen.
Is this possible? I'm using kernel 2.6.3 and i have a nvidia AGP card, so I'm currently using VESA. |

If you are trying to do this on a laptop then you should not be able to get the screen to refresh higher than 60. LCD or TFT displays are only supposed to refresh at that rate. You may damage the hardware trying to force it to go higher. _________________ This post has been brought to you by The damianfactor! |

Did you search the forums?

As stated, I searched. And by that I meant these forums, sorry that wasn't clear. Must I repeat that the search function in these forums (or should I say in phpBB) really sucks. At least I think so.
But I checked out the link. I had read (somewhere) something about a patch being needed so I guess this is it. My kernel is compiling as I write.
I'll be back with info on how well it worked.
@damian: It's a CRT, forgot to mention it.... |
