I was reinstalling Gentoo yesterday and I started compiling my kernel and left to eat dinner, and when I came back my computer was turned off so I wondered what happened, so I tried to turn it back on and nothing happeneed. So I made sure the jumpers for my power button and everything are okay, and I see the lights on my network cards lgihting up, but the fans aren't on, the psu fan isn't on, and nothing inside my case comes on. I didn't smell any smoke from my processor, and I don't know, even if it was dead wouldn't the computer still turn on? or at least the fans? Help!

Thanks

Man. The same thing happened to my shuttle. I'm pretty sure it was because I had it in the TV cabinet compiling qt and someone shut the cabinet door. I think the thing overheated and popped the powersupply...

I dunno if the powersupply broke though... the lights on the network cards on the motherboard still come on. No fans, though.

Anything is possible. Mine doesn't come up at all. If it were my box I'd check the powersupply first.

Could the processor have possibly overheated?
