as far as I can tell, that worked for me. I haven't seen any more flashes, but if I do I'll be sure to post them here. Hopefully nVidia will fix this in the next release...whenever that will be. Thanks for the help!! |

Tried this and the first time I put in the server flag section and it didn't solve the problem. Then I put it in the device section and all is good.
Code: | Section "Device"
Identifier "NV AGP TwinView"
VendorName "nvidia"
Driver "nvidia"
# update this with the PCI id of your card. Consult the output
# of the 'lspci' command. The BusID is usually optional when
# only using one graphics card.
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
# sample twinview setup
Option "TwinView"
# be sure to replace the HorizSync and VertRefresh with correct values
# for your monitor!
Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "32-85"
Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "50-160"
Option "TwinViewOrientation" "RightOf"
Option "MetaModes" "1024x768,1024x768"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "crt,crt"
Option "HWCursor" "0"
Option "SWCursor" "1"
EndSection |
I had been using the 4620 beta drivers but finally decided to upgrade to the newest ones. Using 5341 drivers now and they seem to be working ok.

I tried the HWCursor thing and that didn't fix it for me. I also tried Render 0 and that seemed to hlep a little. I am going to try the 53.41 and see what they do for me. _________________ Join the adopt an unanswered post initiative today |

Well After many many weeks of screwwing with this stuff, I think I finally ahve it all fixed.
I went to herep to make a modeline b/c there isn't a default one for 1280x768. Well I just entered in all the info thinking I had everything going right, and it gave my my modeline which gave me my screen resolution running at 73 mhz refreshrate. Well I have an LCD monitor that said it could run 75 mhz ... so i was like okay , this is good. But the thing I finally realized is that this could be the thing causing the problem. So I downloaded videogen and gave it my max values for the dot clock and horz. and vert. rates, and the default value I wanted it to produce. Vola, I now have a modeline that will give me what I am wanting.
I tested it out by opening A LOT of .png and .jpg's in firefox, this allway made it seem to falsh before. So I went into the monthly posting of screenshots and opened as many as I could. I got about 20 tabs and no flashing.
Hopefully someone this might help someone else who doens't think of that either. I thought that is the refresh was two high it would flash constantly, well I guess I was wrong. _________________ Join the adopt an unanswered post initiative today |
