|
|
I have a Twinhead VX3 laptop with a freshly installed 2004.0 P3 setup. I'm using kernel 2.6.3-gentoo-r1. When I try to reboot the system it just hangs at "Restarting system." and won't go down.
What might I need to do to fix this?
Also, I noticed that at boot my system is identified as "laptop.none" even though my domainname is being set earlier during init. I have a domainname in /etc/dnsdomainnname and domainname started at default runlevel.
TIA

My problem is the same:
Specifically: My domainname is set in file named /etc/domainname. I run Code: | rc-update add domainname default |
and everything seems to go ok.
I type in
and it says (none) for its reply.
My linksys router has no name for this machine at the dhcp clients table.
This causes problems when I want to map windows drives to this machine.
Does anybody have any ideas as to how this can be fixed?
Why would the domainname not be set? |
