dokeymap non funziona nella 2004? [FAQ]

Salve a tutti,
premetto che sono alle prime armi con la gentoo.
Al prompt di boot scrivo: "gentoo dokeymap" ma l'avvio procede senza che mi venga chiesto il layout della tastiera.
Cosa posso fare?

Se ti può interessare, nella 2004.0 ho settato il layout della tastiera da US a IT con il comando:

#loadkeys it

Non appena ti sei loggato come root nel livecd per iniziare l'installazione, da il comando "loadkeys it" e dovresti essere a posto ;)
