Hi all:
I was finally able to get a 2.6.3 kernel working, UDev, ALSA and all. Anyway, I was trying to get APM working and ran into an odd problem. Both apm -s and apm -S work as expected (althouth the fans stay on, is that normal?), but when it resumes the console is like mirror-imaging the left side. It will have the boot prompt at both the left and right. I also can't see what I type, and any messages to the screen I have to hold down the Enter key for awhile for them to scroll up. I saw some ideas about refreshing the framebuffer in this thread that I will try when I get home tonight:

Are there any other ideas? I read somewhere else that I might need a RTC compiled in to the kernel. I'm not sure if I did or not. Thanks for any input! |

Well, I fixed this problem. I compiled the RTC option in. I worked on getting the bootsplash option working, also, so I'm not sure which fixed the problem. I still don't know for sure if apm is supposed to turn the fans off? Anyone know? Thanks! |
