Hey I am trying to install linux but during the install it keeps freezing, it freezes at random times, not on a certain spot. I am not sure what the problem is but could it be because the keyboard, mouse, and monitor are being unplugged from the computer, because I am on a KVM switch and while I am doing things like emerge sync and extracting my stage tarball I switch out and go to the other computer

Well, I can't rule out the fact that it might be a problem caused by your KVM, but I use a Cybex SwitchView and have never had such a problem. I think it's more likely being caused by some other hardware issue like bad ram or CPU overheating.

Hrmm, I am beggining to think it could be my CPU overheating  because I was having other problems which could also be caused by my CPU overheating before. Does installing Gentoo put a lot of load on the CPU

Well, compiling puts a heavy load on the CPU, and Gentoo does a lot of compiling.

Well I left my computer on in the BIOS since my last post and im at 28C and I had my CPU Overheating Protection on to shutoff at 65C, I have raised that to 70C, hopefully now I it will work
