Dear Gentoo Users,

I'm going to buy a new shuttle and planning to install gentoo on it. Firs tof all i wanne know if my system gives any problems?

My shuttle uses a ATI chipset is that giving me problems is it hard to get my Sound or Videocard working right ? Are there any known problems using S-ATA disks under linux with dev-sources kernel ?

Intel Pentium 4 3,0 GHz Prescott 800 MHz, Boxed
Shuttle ST61G4
Dane-Elec Memory PC3200, 400 MHz, -, 2,5, 512 MB
Maxtor MaXLine II 250 GB, 7200 rpm, 8 MB, Serial ATA/150
MSI FX5950 Ultra-VTD256 256 MB
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy II NX Retail
DVD Recorder: MSI DR8-A Retail, White

I really hope i get a answer as soon as possible,
Regards

ugh... sorry but the ATI chipset isn't exactly the best buy. Sure it has some AMAZING video optimizations on it, but the low performance in things such as memory kills it and makes the Intel Chipset a much much better buy. Lots of potential for the ATI chipset however, but they're still rookies.

I would imagine it would be just like any other install, you might have to find a kernel that has support for the chipset though. I haven't really checked so I'm not sure if the standard kernel comes with support or not. You can only find out one way though.
