2004.0 Installation boot problem

man I need the smp kernel (2.6.1), because my nic adapter (mainboard P4R800) doesn't has the driver in the 2.4.x... and every time in the beggining of the boot it displays bad eip... help please....

When I use smp pnpbios=off, it boots but the irqs are not assumed.... i try to use the nic card and it displays a lot garbage.... and the system dosen't work good... help
