I set up dnsmasq on a box last night and I have another gentoo client where I set it's resolv.conf to point to the dnsmasq server. Everything worked fine. This morning, my gentoo client could not resolve names although it could ping by IP. Restarting net.eth0 did not fix it. I had to do a soft reboot.
My other clients (Windoze based) did not have a problem so I know the dnsmasq box didn't wig out.
Any ideas how to troubleshoot? |

I solved it by completely rebooting the DNS client. I'm not sure why I had to do that - even restarting net.eth0 did not fix it until I rebooted.
Thanks! |
