yesterday the power surged at my house and it rebooted the gentoo box. The problem is now it doesnt wanna boot up anymore. It gets to where its about to mount /proc but it never gets past that.
How do i recover the system? |

halik,
Boot with the liveCD and run fsck on each partition. You need to run it twice.
The first time, see what it wants to do but don't let it do anything
The second time, let it do it if you feel brave.
Just try your boot and root partitons.
Be prepared to install from you most recent backup though. _________________ Regards,

Actually,
it shows some stuff about usb and then hangs (?) It finds both my usb keyboard and mouse (i tried booting when unplugged) and it still hangs. damn it!
All the partitions came out as clean btw... what could be wrong with it? Im gonna have to check out the logs thru the bootcd again |

FIXED! re-emerged util-linux and it booted up. yay |
