Hi All.
I would like to run Gentoo without a video card. It seems the machine won't boot without one. Any suggestions how to get around this?
Thanx,

I don't know of any PCs that will boot without a graphics card, other than those with onboard graphics, which technically just have a graphics card built onto the motherboard.
Just get a cheapo PCI graphics card for like 10 euro or something if you want a headless box.. |

Sounds like it might be one of the BIOS settings.
If anything, there'll be a section like "halt on errors" which determines what errors will stop the pc from booting. Having a rootle around in the BIOS is your best bet, and if you can't find an appropriate option, try downloading the latest BIOS version.
Otherwise, follow phaze3k's advice and just get a cheapo card. |

Thanks Guys. I guess I should have said it was one with Slackware before upgrading to Gentoo. |
