Long story short:
I have 2.6 machine here that refuses to acknowledge anything plugged into the USB ports. By this I mean /var/log/messages has no mention of anything I stick in there at all. I am trying to get a printer working but it hates my MUVO, jumpdrive, Zaurus as well. I believe I have USB support properly compiled into my kernel (not as a module) but I'm not sure what's up. My mobo's fine, it works under windows appropriately. Thanks for your help! |

Have you tried genkernel? If that works, then it is just a matter of tracking everything down. If it doesn't it might mean that your USB controller is not supported. |

Try USB stuff as modules first. This will make it easier to compile and test everything without a new kernel each time.
What you generally need is the USB Core Support, UHCI or OHCI or EHCI, USB Mouse, and also Input core support for USB keyboards/mice _________________ Yesterday was the deadline for all complaints |
