I read the first 40 posts then got tired. Am I correct in presuming that they have put more work into the opengl renderer this time (as apposed to the poor work done on ut2003).
The game looks awesome, but I want to know that it will run smoothly. |

It mixes multiple streams into one.
I used to use it to listen to xmms and still have other sound audible. |
I'm guessing this is a form of software mixing instead of hardware mixing? I have -esd in USE and don't have esound installed yet I can do the same without it but then again I have an audigy. _________________ Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun. - Ash, Army of Darkness |

UT2003 looked okay to me but I didn't try it under Windows.
UT2004 looks awesome; pretty much everything has had an overhaul including the rendering engine.
Runs okay here using Athlon 1800+, 512Mb DRAM & 128Mb nVidia FX5200.

That is correct.
I have an Audigy too but still use ESounD, guess I'm just an E nut _________________ 6700 @ 2.66GHz, 4Gb RAM, 2 x 500Gb, 8800 GTX, PhysX, X-Fi, 24" Widescreen, Tux mascot |

ut2003 performance isn't half as good as it is with dx when using OpenGL. I heard that for ut2003, they didn't spent much time working on the OGL renderer and that was the cause of the lower performance. |
