Ok, so I've got an IDE cdrom and a scsi hard drive. I get this error whenever I /sbin/lilo:
livecd linux # /sbin/lilo
Warning: '/proc/partitions' does not match '/dev' directory structure.
Name change: '/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc' -> '/dev/sda'
The kernel was compiled with DEVFS_FS, but 'devfs=mount' was omitted
as a kernel command-line boot parameter; hence, the '/dev' directory
structure does not reflect DEVFS_FS device names.
Added gentoo *
Every time I start up, it panics because it can't mount the root partition. How do I get devfs=mount to work? |

i suppose you bootet from a cd, mounted the gentoo-partitions and chrooted into them before installing lilo. you have to mount /dev also: Code: | mount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev |
