rieccomi qui a tormentarvi un po' 
Volevo fare dei test x vedere se gli altri filesystem disponibili fossero + validi di Reiserfs, inteso come velocita' e robustezza.
Detto, fatto. Monto un altro disco adibito proprio alle prove dei vari filesystem, l'installazione termina senza nessun problema, configuro xfree, e qui nasce il problema...quando do il comando startx non parte nulla e mi da quest'errore: | Code: | _XSERVTransSocketOpen: socket() failed for local
_XSERVTransSocketOpenCOTSServer: Unable to open socket for local
_XSERVTransOpen: transport open failed for local/gentoo_box:0
_XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to open listener for local
Fatal server error:
Cannot establish any listening sockets - Make sure an X server isn't already running
When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages.
This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".
Please report problems to xfree86@xfree86.org. |
se invece do il comando X vedo uno schermo nero e la crocetta del mouse che posso tranquillamente muovere ma niente d+.
Consultando un po' il forum e google trovo diversi post, faccio le varie prove suggerite ma nessuna sortisce gli effetti desiderati...
Avete una qlche idea di quale problema affligge la mia installazione?
Puo' essere colpa del filesystem, nel caso specifico e' JFS ?

e' quello che intendi, allora mancava proprio...devo dire che sinceramente nn ne avevo mai sentito parlare  e siccome mi sono trovato col kernel da compilare interamente, senza neppure una sola opzione selezionata (insomma ho dovuto metterci tutto io), nn mi stupirei se manca anche qlcs'altro.. 
vi terro' aggiornati, provo e poi semmai metto risolto nel topic
