I dont get any sound out of the cd audio player (kscd) anymore. I used to, but now when I press the play button, it plays alright, but I dont hear a thing
could it be the new kernel I have installed a few months ago? (2.6.0)
alsa is in it but totally nor configured since OSS works fine (xmms)
does anyone know what might be the root to this problem? |

Are you using OSS emulation via ALSA?
Try running alsamixergui and unmute the CD line, also increase its volume. _________________ Keyboard error or no keyboard present. Press F1 to continue. |

nope, as i said, alsa is in the kernel but totally not configured and also not used.
But i figured out why.
For some reason I cant play music in the cd writer.
xmms says it has no digital extraction (or something like that)
while the reader does. |

Did you for some reason forget to plug the cd-audio-cable into your drive and/or mobo? |
