emerged koffice 1.3 (after kde 3.2 in my case), when starting kword from a konsole, this is what I get:
Code: |
bash-2.05b$ kword
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
kdecore (KIconLoader): WARNING: Icon directory /home/carl/.kde3.2/share/icons/Wasp/ group not valid.
kdecore (KIconLoader): WARNING: Icon directory /home/carl/.kde3.2/share/icons/Wasp/ group scalable/filesystems not valid.
kdecore (KIconLoader): WARNING: Icon directory /home/carl/.kde3.2/share/icons/kids/ group not valid.
kdecore (KIconLoader): WARNING: Icon directory /usr/kde/3.2/share/icons/kids/ group not valid.
kdecore (KIconLoader): WARNING: Icon directory /home/carl/.kde3.2/share/icons/crystal/ group not valid.

The only similarity I see between what I get, and what is already posted elsewhere is the warnings from KIconLoader. I get no mention of mimetype issues. I have tried remerging koffice 1.3 to no avail. If I revert to KDE 3.2 default icons, I get the following:
Code: |
bash-2.05b$ kword
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
bash-2.05b$
|
I can find nothing in any logs reporting problems. The koffice apps just begin, and exit with no indication as to why.
Suggestions? |

Problem has gone away. emerge sync then emerge -u world, and viola, all of a sudden the koffice 1.3 apps run now! Still would like to know exactly what was wrong! |
