Hi,

the new drivers (3.7.6) are in portage, maybe they are masked. Just emerge and enjoy!

Bye,

Yes im new to gentoo and I guess you can say linux for the most part because I wouldnt consider redhat or mandrake linux compared to gentoo  Ive been learning gentoo for about a day and I have it fully booted and im running KDE 3.2.1. I just now merged from portage and it works...now how do I test the performance? glxgears or somthing? where do i get it?

Yes, i think that's fast, but of course depends on your hardware.
Try "fgl_glxgears" (part of the ati-drivers) also, to test your 3D performance.

Sry, i don't know a program for ati cards. For nvidia cards there is nvclock. Maybe you'll find one using google (and post here if you had found one) :D
