I want to upgrade firmware in my dvd drive as I supect it can be the reason why i cant play some dvds "cant open VIDEO_TS.IFO". The problem is that I need to find out which exactly dvd drive i own(that is model number etc...), how do I find this out? |

It's written on the drive
You can try to cat /proc/ide/hdX/model
Maybe your drive just need some cleaning (dvds are very, very sensitive to dust & smoke). |
