Why was the screem so slowly with my games.

Hi ,

I have installed gentoo linux 2004.0
But when i want to play a game,such as the little game "tuxracer".
I find that the screem was so slow that it cannot play as in other
platform.
Somebody told me that i must complile this game with the support
of opengl,but how can i add the opengl when i compliling.

USE="opengl" emerge tuxracer
was right or not?

do you have the drivers for your video card installed? if it is doing sofware rendering it could be really slow.
