Does anyone know of a package I can use to send read receipts as having abandoned MS Outlook for a web client, I do not have this facility? J |

Thanks for this _Max_. But like you implied in your post, me thinks this may only be for mutt folk. I'll give it a try though and post my results here.
What do you use for RR? |

What do I use for RR? I don't. Actually, both in Outlook and Mutt I have a rule that colors the emails so I can see that someone is requesting a read-receipt, but I never have my mail clients set up to send one. If it is necessary to notify people, I just reply to the email. I guess there might be situations in which it could be convenient to do this automatically, but somehow, I have never found that necessary. _________________ Ceci n'est pas une sig. |

It might be handy if you mentioned what your web client / mail server was |

Oh yes, apologies for that oversight!
I use Postfix as my mail server and I use HastyMail as my web client: http://hastymail.sourceforge.net
Hope this helps. |

I don't know about Hastymail, but I do know that Squirrelmail does support read receipts, postfix and is a web client. (Just make sure that when you're setting it up you choose "Allow use of receipts" in General options) |

Yes I use to use SquirrelMail but I find HM much more pleasing on the eye as so far as its interface is concerned. I calnalso email the author directly with issues which gives it a more "homey" feel as opposed to Big Corp.com!
I guess this will mean a sacrifice or two until he sorts out these read reciepts. Thx. |
