The default gentoo-sources kernel is 2.4.22-gentoo-r7, but the linux-headers, by default, is for 2.4.21. Furthermore, headers for 2.4.22 are "masked".
Why is this the case? |

It's quite often the case that the headers will be behind the kernel source.....i'm using a 2.6 kernel with 2.4 headers. _________________ www.iamthepenguin.com |

The headers are kind of lowest common denominator. Everything built against 2.4.21 headers will wokr on later kernels, but it may not be true the other way around. |
