CPU/Memory usage log?

Is there a decent program (or is it built in?:O) that will log the amount of CPU and memory usage a Linux computer has over a period of time?

Sorry for the dumb question.. just can't find a real answer anywhere.. :'(

You could use vmstat and append the output to a file at regular intervals. You can also put top into batch mode and catch the output. Off the top of my head I don't know of any program that does monitoring over a timeperiod and records the results.
