Can anyone recommend me a good image viewer? Something that let's me press right or left arrows to change between pictures on the folder I am viewing and auto-resize them to fit my screen. If it also has a slide-show it would be great. Something like the what Windows Xp (urgh) has. |

I don't have access to my linux box at the moment, but gqview might have the features you're looking for. |

gthumb.
On my box, at least, it renders images MUCH faster than gqview does. It also has all the features that you mention. |

I second gThumb.
You can quickly view thumbs, view images using arrows, rezies to screen, can do slideshow, can rotate, resize (and save), do some basic color corrections...
It renders perfectly.
And its fast on my system (2.66ghz with 1024mb ram) some say its so but for me its not the case |

I should suggest gthumb instead of gqview, miles better, for sure.
if you need the simplest viewer I'd recommend ee (Electric Eyes) _________________ Gentoo user since 2004.

Eye of Gnome isn't bad. It takes awhile to load lots of thumbnails though. _________________ "The X server has to be the biggest program I've ever seen that doesn't do anything for you."

If you use kde the kuickshow is very good (part of kde graphics). Although it's PgUp and PgDown to switch between photos not left and right...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that feh is the best image viewer. I really like its simplicity and speed. And I consider it a plus that it doesn't have a built in filemanager. Who needs another one of those anyway? I don't even need one, actually since I do all my file manipulation from the shell. _________________ Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane.

I'ved used everything and nothing is perfect but gqview is best there is. gqview will autosize the images and you can use the mousewheel to scroll through images which I find easiest. |

Please use the search function, this has been discussed several times before, for example:
