Hello to all,

My problem is that any Opengl based game I start doesn't work. All I get is a black screen, although the game is started :
for example, when i start quake3 I can hear the sound of the game, but the screen is black. Issuing a ps -ef shows quake3 running perfectly well ...

Has anybody experienced that problem ?

Here is my setup :
A7N8X-Deluxe
GeforceFX 5600 - connected through DVI to 19" Flat screen
AMD Athlon XP3200+
1 Gig RAM PC3200
1 Serial ATA 120Gigs HD
Kernel 2.6.4-mm2 patched with nforce2 fix and bootsplash.

It may be that your monitor is getting a mode which it cannot support, and thus displaying nothing at all. Do you know how your monitor handles video modes it can't support? Most newer ones have some kind of OSD to let you know.

Hi, thanks for posting back :o)
Well, after looking at my screen user's manual, it seems that I can display at 640x480 without any problem ...
I really don't understand that problem, especially since I don't have any errror log ...

Well, after answering you, I figured "Well, my screen supports it, but what about my XFree86Config ?"
That's where the problem was, thank you very much for helping me out here ;)
