WillRivendell,

Build yourself a new kernel. Include Video For Linux and the module for your camera. If alls well, you will have a device called /dev/v4l/video0, which is your camera.

You will need USB working too but I assume you have that already.

WillRivendell.

... and the kernel module for the camera?
Is that loaded. The device file will not appear until it is.

You need the qc-usb module.
Try finding it here
After you download it, just do...
Code:

make all
make install
modprobe quickcam

cam installed :)

I have a normal Video Camera and a video capture card. ATI All in Wonder 7500.

I also have a Logitech Quick Clic 330. With these things, how can I get webcam working? I think the video camera would be a better bet.

WillRivendell
try this
Code:
LINUX_DIR=/usr/src/linux make all

forcing the linux directory let it build properly. i am using 2.6.4 still can't get gnomemeeting to see it though.
dmesg says that it is there and i have /dev/video0 now.
i don't have xawtv yet. does anyone know of anything else?

edit:
well... after a reboot everything is working.
