Ok check this out.. after just having a problem solved by a nice person here regarding grub ive literally run right into another :p

Here is what i see when booting Gentoo:

Quote:

Checking root file system
failed to open the filesystem
if the partition table has not been changed and the parition is valid and it really contains a reiserfs partition, then the superblock is corrupted and you need to run this utility with --rebuild-sb

warning... fsck.reiserfs for device /dev/ROOT exited with signal 6

*Filesystem couldnt be fixed :(

Give root pass for maintenence
(or type Control-D for nromal startup)

Any ideas folks? :)

Should be /dev/hda3, if you followed the partitioning scheme in the install guide. Boot the livecd, mount /mnt/gentoo, edit /mnt/gentoo/fstab to be correct.

Thanks.. it would seem that i hadnt edited several things in fstab.. oddly id made some changes but obviously overlooked other things such as /BOOT and even /SWAP

Thanks for bringing my mistakes to my attention, ive now got a fully working base system.

Thanks again folks! :)
