Yo,

I'm trying to install Gentoo under VM-Ware, now the scsi and the Nic problems are solved the Genkernel "dies".

Here's the last part of the log ;

As far as i can decipher it, it bounches at the network part, i deselected as much as possible during the --menuconfig manual option but the error keeps coming, i also tried the r8 kernel, same song.

Anyone has a clue for me?

What does /var/log/genkernel.log have to say? Maybe I just don't see it, but the compiler output that you posted there looks fine to me.

That doesn't seem normal to me, how can it leave he same dir twice?
Try compiling the kernel manually. The install docs tell you how.

This was the manual "way" but there was nu difference between manual and automatic,....both end up "dead"
