|
|
I've just spent all the day changing tags on my MP3s with JuK. Now, when I open them with XMMS, I get some strange ID3s. For example, instead of "Radiohead - Amnesiac - Knives Out", I get "DOED - NSA - IE U" and instead of "Radiohead - Amnesiac - Hunting bears", I get "DOED - NSA - NIGBAS".
I have the same problem on my other Gentoo box with XMMS running, but I don't have this problem with winamp on Windows.
XMMS is up to date... Anyone has an idea?? |

Could be an encoding issue. See if you are using the same character encoding in Juk and xmms.

I tried the different encodings in XMMS (UTF-8, CP866, CP1251, KOI8-R, default) and different fonts. Il still doesn't works. When I go in "View file info", it shows the good ID3s.
What else could I try?? |

That was my only idea. Sorry. Try the xmms mailing list or something. Better chance that someone has run into this before.
Good Luck. |

try to use Cantus, I've got no problems in tagging mp3 with it, and see if it works for you too... _________________ Gentoo user since 2004.

along that lines, I usually use easytag for tagging, but if that thread describes your problem, it may not matter how you tag it.
However, I use xmms all the time and most of my tags are id3v2 and I've never seen that problem. Whacky. Maybe my files also have id3v1 tags and I just don't know it.... most taggers can be set up to do both at the same time. That might solve your problem. |

I had to disable ID3v2 tags. Thanks Peach, I've searched on Google and on the forum, and I didn't saw that post.
drjimmy, I'll try easytag tonight. Thanks for your help! |
